Six HTA agencies join the HAG in joint accession process bringing total members to 32

Members from Bulgaria, Denmark, Hungary, Latvia and Lithuania have joined the Heads of HTA Agencies Group (HAG) in a joint accession process.

The new members bring the total number of HTA agencies in the HAG to 32, coming from 21 EU/EEA Member States. Having begun its existence in September 2021 with 20 organisations, this represents a significant increase in the number of countries and organisations represented in the HAG.

All new members bring a wealth of expertise, knowledge and experience and support the HAG’s objective of being an inclusive and representative group.

Speaking in Lisbon, Chair of the Heads of HTA Agencies Group, Prof. Rui Santos Ivo said: “We are pleased to welcome our new Nordic, Baltic and Eastern partners to the HAG. The HAG’s rapid expansion is a testament to the desire of HTA agencies across Europe to cooperate in areas of vital mutual interest. As we support the European Commission with the implementation of the HTA Regulation, all our members, old and new, remain steadfast in their commitment to working together to advance strategic collaboration on HTA.”

The HAG will hold their next meeting in Lisbon, Portugal on 12 January 2023. The meeting is being hosted by the National Authority of Medicines and Health Products (INFARMED).
